Seoul trip for 10 days..what to recommend?

Hi there everyone,

Need some advice on seoul trip.

Will be arriving seoul on 9th April for a 10 days trip. Main purpose is to see cherry blossom and to a bit of sight-seeing %26amp; enjoying the food as well.鈥owever, will not visit Jeju island on this trip due to time constraint鈥?/p>

Have some questions:-

1. planning to visit Busan for a day or two. Anything interesting to see at Busan? How can I get to Busan from Insadong, Seoul? Intend to try out Bullet Train, is there a direct link from seoul to Busan? Also, how much would it cost %26amp; how long would it take? Any alternative transportation for returning trip from Busan to Seoul? Via bus? And how long would that take %26amp; how much would that cost? (estimates)

2. Where is the best place or places to see cherry blossom around seoul? since I will be there from 9th April onwards鈥?

3. Any food/eating place to recommend around seoul?(as I will be staying at insadong)鈥?

4. any other place of interest to be recommended to visit?

5. Is there any flea market in seoul? Also wanted to catch a glimpse of Korean morning wet market / fish market? Can anyone recommend?

6. What is the cheapest way of getting to insadong from incheon airport? Othan than limo taxi? Via bus %26amp; Korean train?

7. I guess by April, the weather will still be chilling, is hand-gloves necessary?

Thanks you in advance for any info which is most appreciated.

From,

Kris, KL

Seoul trip for 10 days..what to recommend?

Hi,

So many questions!

I suggest you sort through this forum as many posts have already answered some of your questions.

Seoul have lots of markets and from memory there is one near myeongdong.

Seoul is full of good eating places for all bugets.

Cherry Blossom Festival starts in April my reasearch has found that ';Yeouido streets are good Take line 5 to Yeouida exit 2 and walk towards National Assembly';

Fish market is at Noryangjin

I leave some of the questions for others.

Good luck with your trip. I%26#39;m going back for a visit in May.

Seoul trip for 10 days..what to recommend?

hi Local57,

thanks for your valueable input...

some info could be found from the forum..but info relating to Busan seems limited...appreciate anyone with more info on this...

by the way, is Yeouido very near to this place called ';LA Vista'; street (hope i get it right)? been there last year and also there is a big lake over there...

thanks anyway...

Get yourself a guidebook, or do a google search.

Busan, check out Beomeosa temple, hiking trail behing the temple is worth doing, check out Haeundae beach area, Jalgachi fish market, Busan Tower, Seonjeong beach area and the temple next to the ocean.

Get the KTX from Seoul to Busan, about 100,000 won return, about 2.30 hours one way

Bus will take about twice as long but will be half as much

Why go to Busan though?, so much to see here than hang out in Seoul and Busan

q6: Limo taxi?

I think you mean limo bus, which is easiest and quickest.

Cheapest is train all the way- train to Gimpo and then on to Seoul centre

Q6: Yes. Plenty. What sort?

Q1 Busan. My answer is ';why?';. Nothing against Busan, but I%26#39;d like to understand why, and what you expect to get out of a seaside place in a cold month.

thanks fractalheadache %26amp; ethelman2 for reply %26amp; info...

well, as i had seen some of the places in seoul, i would like to venture outside seoul (if time permits) to experience %26amp; see other parts of Korea...that%26#39;s y i tot of seeing Busan, since it is the 2nd largest city and also experiencing KTX bullet train at the same time....though much of the time will be spent in Seoul again this time, for sight-seeing %26amp; cherry blossom watch....

also i wonder if there is any old folks home around seoul, anyone mind to share the info? thanks...

In busan you HAVE TO HAVE TO eat seafood. It%26#39;s the best and cheapest seafood place I%26#39;ve eaten ever (and I eat a lot of seafood). You have to take the bullet train unless you want to fly but the bullet train is incredibly fast and smooth, very impressive. Don%26#39;t take the bus there. I can%26#39;t remember the price of a train ticket to Busan but I don%26#39;t remember it being expensive. Trust me, you%26#39;ll thank me after taking the train.

I can%26#39;t recommend any one place but you if you%26#39;re a meat eater you should check out any bbq place, they%26#39;re all good.

You can take the bus from the airport but you have to ask at the information desk where they stop. For instance, they may stop in your city/area but it could be a long ways from where you need to actually end up. The safest bet is to take a cab. Sorry I can%26#39;t give you advice on any of your other questions.

thanks pbear98....for sharing the info...

appreciate it ...

still working out if i were to go all the way to Busan...

thanks...

RE-food

To experience a Korean BBQ, you need two people as they won%26#39;t serve just one person.

A lot of the seafood is raw. If you want to try some, you may have to just randomly walk into a restaurant with some fish or some kind of sea food advertised on the wall.
