Nice Ski and Hot Spring Resort near Seoul

I am currently planning a Ski trip to Seoul.

Did a search and found too many ski resorts, but cannot seem to find the pricing and ways to book online.

I am a beginner and am looking for a place that is reasonably near and convinient from Seoul. Wonder if there is a Ski lesson+Ski equipement+accomodation+transfers packakge?

Planning to be there end of this month. Is it too late to book?

Nice Ski and Hot Spring Resort near Seoul

do you have any places in mind?

i guess some websites doesn%26#39;t have english option, so you may have difficulty to find prices and location

how long are you going to stay and what%26#39;s your price range?

and location is your best concern?

Nice Ski and Hot Spring Resort near Seoul

I am looking at either one of these;

Suanbo Sajo Resort

Bears Town Resort

High 1 Ski Resort

Jisan Forest Resort

Yangji Pine Resort

We intend to be there in and around Seoul for about 5 days and spend 2-3 days in the Ski Resort. As for the price, I am not too sure how much they normally cost. But am looking for something relatively cheap but decent.

I do not think I want to travel for more than 3 hrs to get to the resort as time is limited. Hopfully I am able to find a place with Hot Spring or spa.

Hoping to perhaps go to the Ski Resort directly from Incheon airport.

Jisan and Yangi are relatively close from Incheon International airport and seoul.(depends on transportation, but yangi will take less than an hour from seoul if you go there by a car)

Bears and susan resort is a bit farther than those two above

but high 1 is known as pretty far from Seoul and Incheon, so i don%26#39;t recommend it

but i doubt whether there are direct buses to any of those ski resort. you may have to go to the bus terminal to get to the resort. and then transfer to free shuttle or local bus to get to the place

i%26#39;ve only been to hyundae Sungwoo and muju, which has bigger facilities than the places you mentioned

so i really don%26#39;t know which place will be decent, but if you refer to the website above, you will see which resort will meet your budget, and also decent

usually, ski resort doesn%26#39;t have any hot spring facilities, but there are some resorts which has hot spring or located near hot springs(also refer to the website above).

If you are willing to use decent resort facility,

Hyundai Sungwoo Resort

Daemyung Vivaldi Park

Muju Resort

those resorts will be great

especially in Daemyung vivaldi park, there are ocean world, which has both large pools and spa facility

i hope this info helps you for your vacation

hope you have great time and of you have any question

let me know :)

thanks a lot fo rthe info .

Am just wondering if there is accomodation information for Bears Town and Suanbo. I can find the Ski information from the websites you offer but am unable to find any accomodation info .

it%26#39;s weird cause if i find a bears town condo info in korean. i can get access to the price and info of different kind of accomodation, but english website doesn%26#39;t have enough info

so i translated those information.

there are 5 different types

tower condo

little bear room-150,000- one bedroom, kitchen, toilet(for 4 people)

big bear room-220,000 - one bedroom, living room, kitchen, toilet(for 5 people)

http://www.bearstown.com/bt_accomodation/acc_02.php?onEnterFrame=%5Btype+Function%5D%26amp;pageNum=6%26amp;sub=2

bila condo

panda room -200,000- one bedroom, living room kitchen, toilet(for 5 people)

champion room - 250,000 - two bedroom, living room, kitchen, toilet(for 6 people)

http://www.bearstown.com/bt_accomodation/acc_03.php?onEnterFrame=%5Btype+Function%5D%26amp;pageNum=6%26amp;sub=3

Youth hostel - for a group of people, you can%26#39;t check the price

http://www.bearstown.com/bt_accomodation/acc_04.php?onEnterFrame=%5Btype+Function%5D%26amp;pageNum=6%26amp;sub=4

town house- you can%26#39;t check the price either

http://www.bearstown.com/bt_accomodation/acc_05.php?onEnterFrame=%5Btype+Function%5D%26amp;pageNum=6%26amp;sub=5

chain condo - condos which are in other locations as a chain of bears resort

you may don%26#39;t need this info

when you go to the websites above, you may find different prices, but cheaper prices only applies to people who have a membership, which costs lots of money for easily booking the resort and getting a discount

As being a skier or snowboarder more than 10 yrs in Korea, I don%26#39;t recommend Sajo or Bears town becuase of the old facilities. I would rather recommend Daemyung, Jisan or Yanji within abt 1.5-2hrs from Seoul. Others such as YongPyong, High 1 - those are my all time favorites- Phoenix, Sungwoo are also great but a little far from Seoul, although some resorts only takes 2 hrs in the morning and way back on weekdays%26#39; afternoon.

Daemyung offers good ski packages with several combinations like ski lift ticket+accommodation, ski lift+ accommodation+ocean world ( hotspring + water park) and only accommodation. You could visit the website www.daemyungresort.com/vp ( there is a 涓枃 language) and check out. I guess you may be able to reach the resort directly and ask whether this is eligible for foreigners.

The other option is you use 1 day ski package covering ski lift + transportation + discount ticket for ski gear retal and food. Yongpyong, Phoenix, Sungwoo and High 1 offer this package, and you can depart for those anywhere in Seoul according to your accommodation.

Suanbo resort has a condo, but you may not able to check the price online.

but you may get any info from the phone call

the problem is now it%26#39;s a high season for skiing and snowboarding, so it can be a little bit difficult to get a condo room which is in the resort. especially people who doesn%26#39;t have a membership(membership holders get priority when they reserve a room).

so if you are willing to make a reservation, you%26#39;d better hurry

especially in January and February, it%26#39;s a vacation for most of the students

there are small motels around the resort, but they usually don%26#39;t have any website, and even if they have, it will only have korean option. you might get a cheaper room, but you%26#39;d better rent a car or take a taxi if you get a room away from the resort.

this is all i got so far

i hope it might help you

Hyemi, thanks for the translation and insight. I realised that a lot of the info is only available in Korean.

Thanks kimi99 for the insight, I am currently deciding between Daemyung and Jisan. Decided to give Yongpyong and High1 a miss this time as I think its the peak season and thre will be a lot of people.

goodwill tour guide, I am looking for a 3days 2nights trip that includes Ski/ Snowboard lesson on first day, equipments rental, ski suit, accomdation, 2 way transfer from seoul, ski pass for 3 days.
