Cherry Blossom in Jeju

Planning for a trip to Jeju somewhere around April-June, hoping to coincide with the cherry blossom blooming period and do some viewing.

Any ideas how one can go about checking when the cherry blossoms will bloom? Can%26#39;t seem to get much information trawling the net. When will the estimated dates/period usually be released?

Also, which are the recommended spots for cherry blossom viewing in Jeju?

I can%26#39;t help you re Jeju, but have been to Seoul end March when blossom season was nearly over. So I%26#39;d have expected Jeju to be earlier.

Although cherry blossoms in Seoul and city of Jinhae are more well-known, it seems there is cherry blossom festival, check out 鈥isitkorea.or.kr/enu/SI/SI_EN_3_2_1.jsp鈥?/a>

While you are there, check out the field of yellow canola flowers which are more indigenous and popular in that island.

Here is the expected starting date of the cherry blossom by region.

Jeju : 18 Mar, Busan : 21 Mar, Daegu : 25 Mar

Daejeon : 31 Mar, Seoul 3 Apr, Incheon : 6 Apr

Best places to experience cherry blossom in Jeju are Jeonnongro in Jeju city and the way to Jeju Univ. main gate.
