What to do in 5 days

Sally there is a great get on/get off bus that goes all around the Seoul highlights - forget what it%26#39;s called sorry, but it%26#39;s an orange bus and it%26#39;s cheap! It%26#39;s about 10,000 won and you can use it for the whole day. It goes to some of the main temples and palaces as well as various parts of the city, a few markets, shopping areas and the Seoul Tower (which you MUST go to - not just for the view but the tower itself... you%26#39;ll see when you get there!). There is a recorded information service on the bus for each of the recommended stops (in English) which gives some background on the next destination. The buses come every 30 mins, I think.

Suwon is a great place to go if you are looking for a trip out of Seoul. It%26#39;s about an hour on bus (again, only costs a few bucks) and you can have a look around the Suwon Fortress and see some of %26#39;old South Korea%26#39;.

A tour to the DMZ will take you a whole day but you can get a really good understanding of the political history and tension between North and South Korea by going. The US military run tours - they are the best ones, from what I understand. If you search through older posts on this forum you should be able to find details.

There is a hop on/off tour bus that goes around Seoul. We%26#39;re planning on doing that too. Check out this link for the Downtown tour course 鈥isitseoul.net/visit2007en/鈥?/a>

Also found this link of different city tours which you might be interested in.

Hope this helps. Have fun! We%26#39;ll be there in 2 weeks and we can hardly wait!

And if you want to step out of Seoul, I recommend you Folk village. Over there you can see lots of traditional villages, performances and food. You just take subway line 1 to Suwon station, then you can catch free shuttle to the village at tourist info center at the station.

Here is the webpage of the village.

If you like to hike, you can walk up to Namsan mountain too.

hey]

thanks again for the replys.

Looking at the websites and info, we are thinking of spening one day doing the hop on/off bus tour... Will there be enough time to do this all in one day??? Or should we do it over 2??

Also, we want to do a tour to the korean folk villiage and suwon. Would we be able to book a day tour for the both from the hotel? We are staying at ibis myeong.

Thanks

1. Seoul city bus

It is not possible to visit all the places in a day.

I recommend you to pick about 5 places where you are interested in.

2. Folk village

Take subway line 1. Get off at Suwon station. There is tourist information center in front of gate 4. There, you buy a ticket at Folk village both. Then ask them you want to ride free shuttle to the village. Bus leaves at 10:30, 11:30, 12:30, 13:30, 14:30. You don%26#39;t have to make a reservation.
