I%26#39;m going to Seoul for ten days and need some advice concerning food and flowers!
1. What are some ';must not miss'; eats in Seoul? I love Korean food and want to make sure I try some of the best stuff while there!
2. Are there any public gardens where we can see lots of flowers in bloom? I know spring is coming, I%26#39;ll be there beginning of April...is that too early for spring blooms?
3. Where can we eat some good crab...you know, the giant ones with super long legs! Seen them on tv, they look awesome!
4. What is the most unexpectedly cool place you%26#39;ve been in Seoul? You know, a place that you just happened upon, but it was super awesome.
Thanks for the help, Another week and I%26#39;ll be enjoying some ddukbokki in Seoul!
Aloha,

Seoul in a week!
Welcome to the Seoul forum!
I will only give you a bit of info on one part of your post.
Public gardens are not very common in Seoul. Namsan (mountain in the centre of Seoul) could be a good place, depending on what you expect to see (cherry blossom, for example).
Azaleas and the like will be in flower a bit later; a good place for those is along the Olympic expressway by Hangang. However too early, I think.

You can also stop by Cheunggaecheon river a very nice patch of green space in middle of concret jungle. I am pretty sure you can see some flowering plants along the way. It%26#39;s not too far from Dongdaemoon market. As for food, BBQ of course! I am used to beef bbq but I also liked pork belly (samgyeopsal?) or pork cheek bbq with shot of soju.
I have been to some restaurants in the back allies of Insa-dong, I had no idea whether those places were good or bad, but I just made sure those p[laces were packed with people, and it nver failed me.
Unexpected cool place? I really liked Samsung Leeum art museum, and short stroll from subway station to the museum. It was quiet non-commercial neighborhood, but I saw many well designed houses and buildings, and I caught the glimps of Han Gang river. Museum itself is real gem filled with Korean art stuffs that I studied about in grade school.
Thanks guys, this is very helpful! I think we may try to get down to Jinhae for the Cherry blossom festival. I saw in a guide book that it is a 5 hour train ride.
Anybody have experience riding on the KTX?
Thanks again!
Aloha!
I would recommend Gyoungju (Kyoungju) rather than Jinhae which is too crowded with local people during Cherry Blossom Festival. Gyoungju is historical city of old kingdom with so many national treasure.
You can tour the city by bicycle and it would be even great during cherry blossom festival which is held in the beginning of April. Riding bicycle in Bomun Danji covered by cherry blossom would be fantastic.
