Hi everyone,
I am going to Seoul with my family for 6 nights in April We were thinking of going to a ski resort near Seoul for one to two nights, just to experience some ';country'; life. We know that there will not be snow in April, so which resort has other entertainment eg. biking, hiking, parks that would be suitable for a family with a young kid?
Was looking at vivaldi park. Any comments on this place or other recommendations would be welcome!
Thank you for your advice!
Resort near Seoul - which one do you recommend?
Daemyung resort (Hongchun)has a water park called '; Ocean world';. It has various water amusement facilities that kids might enjoy themselves all day.
However, other than that, I doubt you would experience country life there.
Oh, most importantly, it will close from April 6 to 24 for maintenance. YongPyong also closes the water park in April for the same reason.
I don%26#39;t know when you come to Korea in April, but most ski resorts have little attraction that time.
Why don%26#39;t you try Seorak MT or Kyeongju if you could move further? Otherwise, you could find some resorts where you can enjoy cherry blossom festivals around the nation.
Resort near Seoul - which one do you recommend?
Hi Kimi99!
Thanks so much for your very useful information. We will be in Korea first week of April, so may just be able to go before they close the water park, if we do decide to go.
Mount seorak seems quite far away. Can%26#39;t quite face a four hour bus ride with a 3 year old girl!
Do you have any resorts near Seoul to recommend? We basically just want to relax away from the city, with some nature / simple hiking..
Thanks again!
Pls refer to my recent post below about some information about resorts. I forgot to mention that Everland would be another option as there are water park, museum and amusement park.
As mentioned, it matters whether you bring your car or use resort shuttle bus or public transportation.
Unlike most ski resorts, there are few resorts running their own shuttle bus leaving from Seoul. Therefore you should check and decide. If you are willing to use public transportation, pls let me know, I will search more resorts which are easily accessible by public transportation.
If you don%26#39;t want to travel much, I think Sheraton Wakerhill in Seoul will be good option. My friend who lives on Seoul, sometimes stay here for vacation, she said the swimming pool/spa is really good. Although it%26#39;s in middle of Seoul, the surrounding area is quiet and grounds are beautifully well maintained, starwoodhotels.com/sheraton/…
Also only very close to Seoul, there is a hot spring resort, …visitkorea.or.kr/enu/SI/SI_EN_3_6.jsp…
Good luck
