Gyeongju fr Incheon airport in Aug, ?Summer sale

Hi, this is my 3rd visit to Seoul and will be there for 4days, 5nites in Aug. Would like to visit Gyeongju. Appreciate advice on transport:

will be arriving Seoul on Thur Aug 6 at 0720hrs and hoping to go directly to Gyeongju.

What is best way to go -take bus from airport (leave 0830)to DongDaegu (4-5hrs)and change to bus/train to Gyeongju or take airport bus to Seoul Station and take KTX train ?

Will there be problems getting train ticket on the spot ? Also planning to spend 1 nite there and then return fr Gyeongju to Seoul on Fri Aug 7 evening - would it be difficult to get KTX tickets back to Seoul ?

Will there be summer sales around this period in Aug in Seoul ?

There is a direct bus to Gyeongju(via Pohang).

If you take KTX you need to transfer once at Dongdaegu stn to Saemaeul though.

Sorry, the first stop is Gyeongju. Not Pohang.

I have learnt the hard way: pre book your return train ticket on train. You can do it on the korail website.

And if you go by train to Gyeongju, you can do the same. It%26#39;s harder though, as you can%26#39;t guaranteee when you%26#39;ll get to Seoul. I%26#39;d allow 3 hours from landing as a minimum to get to seoul station.

Or take the bus.

Many thanks for information. It does seem easier to take bus directly fr Inchon airport tho it is 5 hour journey.

I read that the summer holidays will end around that weekend so am worried that transport will be difficult to/fr Gyeongju and Seoul around that period. Will it be busy travel period ?

Was thinking to buy KTX train return ticket at Inchon on Aug 5 morning aft reserving bus to go Gyeongju for the return trip to Seoul on Fri Aug 6 -would that be OK ?

Regarding sale - is this period of Aug fr 5-10 within summer sale season still ?
