Stay in Gyeongju

HI, anyone know where is a good place to stay in Gyeongju? Also, what is the latest time a person can leave Seoul for Gyeongju by train? and the earliest time to leave Gyeongju for Seoul? I have the kR pass so travelling by train is not a problem.

Anyone can help?

Stay in Gyeongju

I recommend the Bomum Lake resort area, which is where the better hotels are. There are lots there. I always stay in the Hilton, on the lakeside, as it is often quite cheap.

The resort is about 10-12,000 won in a taxi from the railway station.

The very last train from Seoul is a saemaul (so-called ';luxury express';) that leaves at 22:20 for Dongdaegu (arr 1:20 am). Then an ordinary train from there to Gyeongju gets you in at 03:30 am.

You would do better to get the 19:30 KTX to Dongdaegu, change to a saemaul to arrive at 10:30 pm.

I%26#39;ve been on that, and the saemaul has been delayed, by 30 mins but there are still taxis at Gyeongju.

The earliest train from Gyeongju leaves at about 07:45 to reach Seoul (again change at Dongdaegu) about 10:40

Thanks for the advice. I%26#39;ve managed to stay at Gyeongju Kolon hotel that is very near Bulgaksa, which makes it very convenient for the visting the place. :) Managed to catch the train you mentioned to Gyeongju and also tried the KTX on the way back.

Gyeongju is really very very beautiful and fall seems to be eternalised here by the time I visited.
