Overnight in Seoul

Hi all we are travelling to UK with Korean Air from Australia and we are getting an overnight stay in Seoul.

We land 17:35 and fly out the next afternoon at 16:55, they will put us up at a hotel overnight could be the Hyatt.

My question is is there enough time to see a little bit of Soeul, during this time and if so what is the best.

thanks J

Overnight in Seoul

Hi, I hope this link is useful for you:

I think you have to go to Seoul, as Hyatt Regency Incheon is an airport hotel - 3 minutes bus ride from the terminal- and if you start at early morning, a half day tour can do!

This is what I read on virtualtourist site about hop on hop off bus- I wonder if the bus still operate at present as we%26#39;ll go to Paris with Korean air too; but we %26#39;ll have a stopover in Seoul on the way back home so lot of time for us .

%26gt;%26gt;The Seoul City Tour Bus is the best way to see Seoul%26#39;s main tourist attractions. It is great value and a great service.

The main Downtown Tour route is: 1 Gwanghwamun 2 Deoksugung 3 Nandaemun Market 4 Seoul Station 5 USO 6 Yongsan Station 7 War Memorial of Korea 8 US Army Yongsan Base 9 Itaewon 10 Crown Hotel 11 Myeongdong 12 Namsangol Traditional Korean Village 13 Sofitel Ambassador Hotel 14 National Theater 15 Namsan Seoul Tower 16 Hyatt Hotel 17 Tower Hotel 18 Shilla Hotel 19 Dongdaemun Market 20 Daehango 21 Changyeonggung 22 Changdeokgung 23 Insadong 24 Cheong Wa Dae 25 National Folk Museum 26 Gyeonbokgung 27 Police museum 28 Sejong Center for Performing Arts.

There is a guide on every bus, who speaks English, Japanese and bits of a few other languages too. There are also free audio headsets giving detailed information in five languages.

The terminal is in front of Donghwha DFS in Gwanghwanun, but you can board the bus at any of the 28 stops on the circular route.

The buses depart every half hour from 09.00 unitil 19.00. They take 2 hours to cover the circuit, so the last bus arrives back at 21.00. You just hop on and off the buses wherever you see the cylindrical, red, white and blue Seoul City Tour sign poles.

A 1-day ticket costs just 10,000 won for adults and 8,000 won for children. You can buy the tickets on the bus. %26lt;%26lt;

Did you leave yet?

The neighborhood north of downtown where the US embassy and the 2 papaces are is great. There is a Natl. Folk Museum and Museum of Korea and a very cute neighborhood with lots of good restaurants. Not far away, there%26#39;s nice buildings and goo shopping at Insadong.

I hope your optimism is justified. Last time i did this, I got put up in Hotel June in ';Incheon Airport Town';, which does not reach Hyatt standards.

It%26#39;s OK, but not 5 star.

It%26#39;s not at the airport and the only local transport I could find was the metro/subway (to Gimpo airport, where you change to another line into Seoul)

I gave up Asiana%26#39;s free hotel offer at INC just because I want to spend more time downtown in Seoul - my layover is 27 hours. Nothing much to see in Airport City or Incheon Island except for the waterfront area I believe? I%26#39;ve decided to apply for one of the free Goodwill Guides, and if I don%26#39;t get one, I%26#39;ll just make my way around solo (hate those regimented bus tours!)

Thanks for your info, this helps a lot
