Welcome to this forum.

I%26#39;m sorry to say that until you raised this, I%26#39;d never heard of Jinju. I%26#39;ve been to Changwon, which I guess is quite close by.

If you get there, do please tell us about it!

I imagine you%26#39;re going because of some busienss reason, since it%26#39;s not exactly on the main beaten track.

Jinju Advice

I heard from my parents that this city is ';The Place'; to view cherry blossoms in Spring. There is another huge Lantern festival in June.

Here is the info about the city, http://korea.wikia.com/wiki/Jinju

oops, sorry, my parents were talking about city of Jin-Hae not Jin-Ju for cherry blossoms.

Thanks, but I have decided to skip Jinju. Instead I am looking at a side trip to Gongyu and maybe Buyeo while travelling from Gyeongju to Seoul.

sorry to say ';Gongyu'; is ambiguous: do you mean ';Kongju/ Gongju'; as in west of Daejeon? Baekje capital place?

Yes, the former capital west of Daejeon - my bad typo, should have the book in front of me next time. Good thing the guidebook has the place names in hangeul as well as romanised it will be handy at the bus station when getting tickets.
