Relaxing away from the city in Mid-March

The two of us are planning to be in Seoul around mid-March and spend about two days seeing many of the major tourist attractions in Seoul. Then we would like a few relaxing days away from the hustle of the city. I鈥檝e investigated the Jeju Island, but I was wondering if anyone had any advice on other beach or relaxing destinations in South Korea? We don鈥檛 speak any Korean, so we would prefer a place where we can get by on at least broken English/pantomiming.

It probably won%26#39;t be too warm, and I guess beaches would be places to take a brisk walk, not for sitting around.

My recommendation is always Gyeongju, which is the so-called ';museum without walls';. I find it a relaxing place to be, wandering in temples in the mountains and seeing the various sights. May not be what you%26#39;re looking for, though!

March in Korea is too cold for real beach vacation. Even Jeju island will be still cool. Why not try indoor hot spring resort for relaxing and healthy vacation? Check out Bugok Hawaii resort, 鈥isitkorea.or.kr/enu/SI/SI_EN_3_1_1_1.jsp鈥?/a>

Couple of people I know went there and enjoyed indoor hot spring water park.

Sorry, the website on my previous has link to wrong resort. Here is resort website, www.bugokhawaii.co.kr/broad/intro.asp?flag=1

Well, there are many options for you to choose from. It still will be quite nippy here during that time, so beaches might not be the way to go. However, Jeju would be a bit warmer than the peninsula.

Sure, Kyoungju is nice for the temples and history if you are into that sort of thing. A bit of a ways from Seoul as well. If you are looking to just relax and soak up the culture in an unhurried environment I have two ideas.

One, take a train to Chuncheon from Seoul Station or Chungyangni maybe. That would be a great day / overnight trip from Seoul. You%26#39;d see the country-side and Chuncheon is located on a large lake / river a couple of hours northeast of Seoul. It%26#39;s famous for its dalkkalbi, spicy chicken stir fry. There are also temples in the area. A quick google will help you out for more info.

Two, there%26#39;s also a small town to the east of Seoul called Danyang which is pretty cool. It%26#39;s also located on a lake with a very impressive temple nearby. We ate with the monks last time we were there. There are a lot of cool cafes and eateries by the water as well in the city. You can get there by train or bus from Seoul very easily. This link from wiki might help some or a quick google: http://wikitravel.org/en/Danyang

Enjoy...
