hi, experts,
read from the forum and noted that the popular shopping areas mentioned are Dongdaemun; Namdaemun and Myeong-dong
Do all the 3 places sell the same types of things/fashions? Cos whether if it is necesaary to spend 3 days on each of these 3 areas to shop?
thanks

Namdaemun and Myeongdong are across the streets from one another so you can cover both places in one day. Start off at Myeongdong which is like Orchard Road in Singapore where you get the best that the city offers. Namdaemun is one big cluster of shops and stores that operate round the clock so you can save this place after you%26#39;re done with Myeongdong. You can find everything under the sun in Namdaemun not just clothes but also handicrafts, shoes, bags, food products, etc.
You%26#39;ll need at least one full day, preferably three days if you%26#39;re a thorough shopper, for Dongdaemun which has many different buildings, eg Doota, selling clothes, accessories, watches, etc. Unlike Myeongdong which offers the latest trends, you can find something for every style persona in Dongdaemun.
If you still have time, check out Apgujeongdong and Sinchon. Apgujeondong is where the branded stores are though there are department stores as well Sinchon is the university town so you%26#39;ll find streetwear and youth fashion.
If you%26#39;re looking for handicrafts, visit Insadong on Sunday where the street is closed to traffic for street performances. So you can enjoy the shows as you shop. There is also a big duty-free govt-run souvenir emporium in Insadong.
If you%26#39;re visiting any of the big name department stroes like Shinshigae, etc. take note that all of them are closed on Mondays.

I recommend Dongdaemun %26amp; Myeongdong! Dongdaemun market is fantastic to walk around at night. There are also a lot of shopping centres round here, all of which are open all night. For example, Hello APM, Doota, Migliore. Dongdaemun is great if you want %26#39;genuine fake%26#39; sunglasses, bags, shoes, jewellery etc. Excellent quality.
Myeongdong has every shop, every brand imaginable and it just shopping heaven. Great for picking up new cosmetics, make up etc... x
Also, if you can, check out the Lotte Shopping Mall. I%26#39;m not sure of the exact location but think it is somewhere near city hall. Anyway, most people know where it is. It%26#39;s heaven. x
hi, frappeo and jenlafemme,
thanks so much for the tips on the shopping venues. I will be printing this info out and bring along for my trip.
My teenage daughters will be too excited to read them. they are the korean wave craze and the shopping queens.
How about Iteawon and ';fashion street'; near Yongsei University? Is it worth going?
I wanna get Hard Rock Cafe Tee also, where can i find it in Seoul
HRC is in Itaewon. The places mentioned are the best places for shopping. The fashion street near ewha univ is worth checking out.
Dear Jenlafemma,
Can i know whether Dr Jart, BRTC and skin79 skin care product can find from Myeondong or Insadong? If yes, which part of Myeongdong? Besides, where to buy skin care are more cheaper?
Myeongdong is an area, not a street,so not possible to give an easy direction. It will, I%26#39;m surte, have what you want, but you%26#39;ll need to wander round. I%26#39;d start from Euljiro 1 ga station and walk south from there to the top, make a right and then right again and so on to zig zag through.
