hi there

im over nighting in seoul and have 1 full day there staying in a hotel close to the airport but want to go into the centre of town for some shopping. what is the quickest and cheapest way to get there from the airport and what are the store shopping hours there

thank you

hi there

You can take the Airport Subway from Incheon Airport to Gimpo Airport and transfer to line 5 to city center. Dongdaemun shopping center is opened till 5am. There are some shopping centers (e.g. Doota, Migloire) and street stalls selling a varieties of stuffs like clothings, bags, shoes, accessories etc. Dongdaemun Stadium is at Dongdaemun Stadium Station, line 2. Other shopping areas usually close around 9pm - 10pm.

hi there

subway=cheapest. bus=quickest, but bus is from airport, and if you%26#39;re staying in Incheon Airport town for example, there%26#39;s a subway from there. If it Best Western, I think bus is quicker.

Bus is around 14US dollars each way.

What soort of shopping? Markets?

If so, take bus to Seoul station and walk to Namdaemun market would be a god plan. Open 24 hours.

looking o buy things like clothing adidas brand in particular i was told that the selection of item there are great and as i will be spening in euros it seems that it might be alot cheaper there

im flying with Korean air from sydney back to london and the fare includes this syop over the night and day so thought i would take the opportunity to see the city and do a spot of shopping

thank u for help

so, you%26#39;ll possibly be in Airport town- in which case take subway, as mentioned above. Go either to Dongdaemun or to Namdaemun.

Not sure Euros will work, though. Dollars, yes, but I%26#39;ve never found anyone who even knows what a Euro is.

Hi there again,

Was just wondering how expensive things are there in Seoul. For example like a meal or a coffee?

I know that the currency is in KWON is that correct so like how much does 1 american dallor acuate to 1 koean kwon..

Thanks for your help

Simon: Check the current exchange rate bra. It is prolly 1,400 per US dollar right now. It is fluctuating a lot though. Don%26#39;t worry about that. Exit customs and walk to a visitor info kiosk. Ask them about buses to Myongdong or the center of the city. Seoul Station perhaps. That is high end shopping. One block away is the mega trinket, fake, real, what market -- Namdaemun. Go there. Ask someone if you don%26#39;t know. Koreans are very helpful people. You ARE their guest and, yes, some people still think that way thank god. We (our people aus / us / can / euro / ) will learn much from them one day. They%26#39;ll get you a bus ticket and a room if you need it and tell you about times for your departing flight. Hell, they%26#39;ll probably pay for it along with your dinner too. Your hosts. Just in case, there will be free maps all in front of you at the aueropuerta. Grab them. Let the people do their job, be patient, and you%26#39;ll have a great time... Just don%26#39;t rush with the others and follow you own logic. Damn. One day. Just realized that. Enjoy...

hi thank u so much for your helpful info

what currency do they use there is it the KWON

Cheers

simon

Do you mean Won?

Korean Won is their currency. The price of meals differs from place to place, depending on where you are having your meal. Generally, the price range from 4,000 won to 17,000 won. It would be more expensive if you are in a big restaurant and also depending on what you order.

By the way, just to give you an idea of the food price. The price of a noodle/rice meal at the restaurants in Gimpo Airport is generally from 6,000 won - 8,000 won. A restaurant in Gimpo Airport is selling Ramyon (a kind of spicy soupy noodle) for 4,000 won, kimchi fried rice for 7,000 won, coffee 3,000 won, cappuccino 4,000 won, Heineken beer 6,000 won. That%26#39;s about the same price that you can get in a small restaurant/food court in the city. I still have the price range as I snapped a picture of their menu.
