5 Days Geography Trip
Hi! I am a Geography Teacher who is thinking of organising a Geography Trip for my students. I am thinking of visiting some of S Korea MNCs like Hyundai, Kia, Samsung. Would this be possible? Looking at industries in Korea.
Would also want to visit the DMZ zone.
Maybe some Hi-Tech farms.
Are there any other geographical aspect which i can look for in Seoul? Any say volcanic activity? I know jeju island would have plenty, but i am afraid 5 days would be too rush.

staying in incheon; would like to sight see in seoul...Help!
Yes!
Take shuttle to airport, and ideally check in then limo bus to City Hall. Walk east along Eulji road towards the SK Telecom tower (looks like a flip open mobile phone), and there turn left, cross Cheong stream go along the road with the piano keys in the mdile (northwards). When you get to Jong Road (main road, utrn right to next interesection; walk up Insa Dong. At end, if time, turn tright and go to Changeok palalce for a tour (closed Mondays, need to be there for 1:30 tour- only tours possible).
Leave Seoul with at least 2.5 hourse before your flight, more if you%26#39;ve got to get back to hotel for luggage.
Would be my preferred day.
ethelman thank you for your suggestion. I was thinking of taking a tour bus from the airport as an alternative,
what do you think ?
If you are not confident about finding your way, then it%26#39;s not a bad idea. Here is one tour bus info, 鈥isitkorea.or.kr/enu/SI/SI_EN_3_6.jsp鈥?/a>
or simply go into town and grab the sightseeing bus. It%26#39;s an all day on/off bus.
Astoria Hotel
I am booked to stay at the Astoria and on a hotel website, it suggests 605-1 to Sejong Hotel and a fairly short walk. Can anyone tell me if the above info is accurate, how much the bus will cost and provide directions from Sejong to Astoria?
Is there a better way to go?
Thanks.
Astoria Hotel
By the way, the Sejong Hotel website says the airport bus is 6015.
Also, about how far is it from the Sejong Hotel to the Astoria Hotel on foot?
Thanks.
Namsan Guest House
I am travelling to Seoul next Feb and is therefore looking for lodging now. I am considering staying in Namsan Guesthouse. Can any tell me the rooms are clean and is it near subway? Are they any attraction near by?
Namsan Guest House
Yes the rooms are reasonably clean, near the subway but there is a little hill to walk up ( no big deal )... and its near myeondong with lots of shops and namsan tower is around the corner, many eatery there.
with the subway around the corner, you can get to most places and its like 6000won to dongdaemun if you want to do some all niter shopping.
Things must buy at Korea
Halo....
Any one can tell me any things (food, skin care or clothes) that must and worth to buy at Korea.
What is the best souvenir that have to buy for korea trip?
Tq.
Things must buy at KoreaSkincare products: BB cream, whitening mask pack
Food products: Loose teas (Chrysanthemum, lotus flower and etc.) Dried seaweed packs. Chocolate with hongsam roots inside (It sounds weird but it actually taste better than any other jinsang products) Gochujang (Korean chilly paste)
Accessory: I love those small silk purses I bought at Insadong and Namdaemoon market. Many of NY friends compliments it. If you like glittering kinds, you can find cubic accessories everywhere in Korea!
Things must buy at KoreaThanks for your info.
Ya..BB cream are very famous there now and i wont miss out the bb cream ad some cosmetic products because it is cheaper than where i get from here.
Chocolate with hingsam roots never heard abt it but i will try it also. Seaweed must to buy.
small silk purses...ok....will take a look for that.
Thank you.
Daewoo Inn, has anyone stayed there recently...
If so, I%26#39;d greatly appreciate your comments as to finding it from the subway, its location, cleanliness, est. (I read a post about people paying $60.00 to get picked up at ICN airport).
Also, its distance from interesting parts of town to walk around.
Thank you.
Daewoo Inn, has anyone stayed there recently...
not stayed there, but walked past it on many occasions (assuming its Daewoo Motel you%26#39;re talking about)
Look on their website for details as to where it is and how to get there. A taxi from airport will cost you at least US60, more like 80 if heavy traffice; but the KAL bus is about US11 (14,000 won).
It IS 5 mins max from City Hall, and from metro stations.
If your question is ';where is City Hall in relation to sights?';, then it%26#39;s close to Myeongdong, palaces etc. But Seoul is big and you%26#39;d need a long (30 min) walk or a metro ride to Dongdaemun market, for example.
