Korean Folk Village

Anyone here tried getting to the Korean Folk Village thru the free shiuttle bus in Suwon? How exactly do we get to the shuttle bus station from Suwon subway station? Any idea which exit number to take, and the directions to the shuttle bus station?

Korean Folk Village

Yes, it%26#39;s easy. Suwon is not a subway station but a main rail station, in fact.

There are two ';sides'; and you want to come out of the station on the side that is to the left if you%26#39;re standing facing AWAY from Seoul. Just remember the way the train came in.

You leave the station and look LEFT and you will see a quasi traditional building on the same side of the road as the station. (If you don%26#39;t see it, then go back under the station and look from that side as you must have got confused)

Go to this building and buy your ticket. The buses go at 10:30 and 11:30, I think. This may have changed.

On the way back, only 3 buses go and you may want to take a taxi instead. There are plenty there; get in and say ';Suwon yok'; which means Suwon station.

It%26#39;s a good 40 mins ride.

There is Tourist Information Center appx 50m from exit 4 of Suwon station. Inside of the info center, there is ticket booth for the village. You can buy ticket to the village and get shuttle ticket, too.

Shuttle leaves at 10:30, 11:30, 12:30, 13:30, 14:30

(It takes 30 min/departure time from the website)

make sure you%26#39;re there for the wedding celebration, I think midday, and also for the Farmer%26#39;s Dance and not-very-tight rope display at 3 till 4.

You can eat in the market area- buy tickets from the little huts, each of which has it%26#39;s own specific set of dishes, then take your ticket to the relevant food outlet. The noodle in soup is good, as are the pancakes (jeon)which have fish, veg, allsorts in them.
