Hiking/Accomodation outside of Seoul

I will be travelling with my wife and 2 year old son in late March/early April for ~ 10 days. Of course we will spend some time in Seoul but wondering if anyone had suggestions for attractions/towns outside of the city. We are avid outdoors people but would need some accomodaiton with toilet and cooking facilities for our 2 year old son. Any suggestions on where to go, where to stay and what to see?

Are you going to rent a car or use a public transportation to the resorts? Few resorts have their own shuttle bus leaving from Seoul, for example Daemyung resort and Hanhwa resort.

If you want the resorts near Seoul, Daemyung Yangpyeong or Hanhwa Hanhwa Yangpyeong %26amp; Yongin. However,if you do not have a car there, it would be a little hard for sightseeing although there are many attractions and tour spots.

If you are willing to leave further, about 2-3 hrs from Seoul, Daemyung Sol Beach, Seorak, Byeonsan or Hanwha Daecheon, Seorak would be another option. Except Seorak, those resorts are located right beside the sea (east or west sea) and mostly have water park and spa. As for Seorak resort (both for Daemyung and Hanwha), you can enjoy both east sea and Seorak mountain.

Daemyung Sol Beach and Byeonsan are newly opened so boast good facilities. You can also go to Seorak Mt.from Sol Beach.

Most reosrts(Condominium) have kitchen for cooking and toilets inside. You can also check the basic concept of Korean resorts on the websites above before you leave. In addition, there are supermarkets in the resorts, so you can buy almost everything needed for cooking except fresh breads, coffee, cheese and ham which are mostly instant food in those supermarkets. You might get more eateries in E-Mart in almost every city, or bring some from Seoul.
